National School Lunch and Breakfast Programs
Thank you for allowing us the privilege of providing healthy meals for your child this school year. The National School Lunch, Breakfast Programs, After School Snack Program, and Seamless Summer Program are highly regulated by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) under whose guidelines, rules and regulations we are required to operate. The Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010 requires the USDA to establish nutrition standards for all foods sold in school(s) - beyond the federally-supported meals programs. If you would like more information about the history of the program or the law governing it, please visit: http://www.fns.usda.gov/school-meals/child-nutrition-programs.

As of, Tuesday, September 1st, 2015 the Union County School Board announces an amendment to its policy for serving meals to students under the National School Lunch/School Breakfast Programs for the 2015-2016 school year. All student will be served lunch/breakfast at no charge at all 4 schools. This does not include the Tigers Den Daycare for students who are not enrolled in VPK. Students are required to take a minimum of 3 items one of which must be a fruit or vegetable. Second meals, a la carte and extra items are not included.
